Hiring analytics that
actually move the needle
Track screenings over time, average fit ratio, and most common missing skills — so you know which roles are bottlenecking your pipeline.
Screening velocity
See how many CVs your team is processing each week, broken down by role and recruiter.
Average fit ratio
Know what percentage of incoming CVs actually match your JDs. High = good sourcing. Low = rework needed.
Missing skills heatmap
Discover which skills keep showing up as gaps across candidates — a signal to either rewrite the JD or rebuild your sourcing channels.
Time-to-shortlist
Track the median hours between JD posting and first shortlist — the metric most ATSes refuse to surface.
Why hiring analytics matter
Most recruiting teams track time-to-hire. Very few track the step before it: time-to-shortlist — the gap between a JD going live and a recruiter handing over a ranked candidate list to the hiring manager. That gap is where most hiring slow-downs happen, and it is almost never measured.
HireBest analytics surface the metrics that actually explain pipeline velocity. If your fit ratio is consistently below 30%, the problem is sourcing — you are pulling from the wrong channels. If fit ratio is high but time-to-shortlist is long, the bottleneck is triage speed. If both are fine but roles keep stalling, the issue is downstream: interview scheduling, decision loops, or offer timelines.
The missing-skills heatmap is particularly useful for JD quality. When the same 3–4 skills appear as gaps across 80% of applicants for a role, there are two possible explanations: either the talent pool genuinely lacks those skills (a sourcing problem) or the JD is requiring skills that are unrealistic for the seniority level being offered (a JD problem). Knowing which it is changes what you do next.
